I would like to share one idea with you today
As a primary financial care advisor, I have had many reminders of the importance of what I do and one of them is a reminder of how life can change in an instant.
Let’s be a little interactive.
For example, tell me what you did when you got up this morning?
(Prospect) I went to the bathroom, shaved or brushed my teeth etc… got dressed, had breakfast…
(Norm) Ok, now tell me what would happen if tomorrow morning you could not do that?
(Prospect) My spouse would do it.
(Norm) Could they do it every day? Are they always home? Mr/ Mrs prospect, you would be fine if you have someone and enough money to get you back to taking care of yourself. However, the reality is that we must be in a position to have the resources to do it.
I need to ask you a question.
If today is the day that you needed a lot of money for a sickness, an accident or because someone died and we may have to replace their income.
Would there be enough in your reserve to take care of it?
Is there enough money there today, to continue living at the same level that you are living today?
This reserve has to pay for your mortgage, food, clothing, phone, cars, insurances, kid’s expenses, etc.
If the reserve had to pay for all these things?
How long would the reserve last?
We make promises and want certain things for our families, let’s make sure we can keep them by creating and paying for our own reserve first.
